Planned as part of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, this event was organized by the municipality of Déols.
The village of Brassioux is located in this commune and was built to house the military and civilian personnel of the US Air Force.

In addition to numerous panels recalling the construction, the life on the site, and the subsequent sale of the houses upon the departure of the American forces, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” presented an airplane-shaped play structure they saved from destruction and the model found in the Déols town reserve.

This model, restored by the association's volunteers, was one of the attractions of the event (see the attached press clipping). Indeed, Yves Bardet, a volunteer with the association, carried out a huge amount of research, allowing all visitors to discover the names of all the American families who lived in each of the 350 pavilions. His meticulous work, based on telephone directories, was praised by all officials and visitors.

Also noteworthy is the tremendous amount of work put in by the association's volunteers (two months of preparation, one day to set up the exhibit and the airplane model, two days of exhibition time, in addition to the time requires for dismantling and storage).

Thanks to Antoine, Dominique, Fabrice, Francine, Franck, Frédéric, Jacky, Jacqueline, Jean-François, Jean-Jacques, Jonathan, Marie-Claude, Maxans, Philippe (x2), Yves (x2), Sylviane, Xavier... not to mention the team from the SNCV garage in Céré-Coing for the outward transport of the structure and the members of the ARVMC of Georges Rebardeau for the assembly and dismantling, then the transport of the structure to the La Martinerie site.
