La Martinerie

It was at Bruno Bordage's initiative that a few ESOAs (non-commissioned officer students) from the 11th Company, 4th Platoon of the 75-10, Verdun class, came to La Martinerie for a pilgrimage, 50 years later.

Welcomed by Jean-Jacques and Michel, they met up with Didier, one of their former group leaders, who lives in the Indre department.

After a coffee and a quick tour of “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”, the small group headed to Building 51, where the 11th Company, commanded at the time by Captain Giraud, was located. The 4th Platoon was commanded by Warrant Officer Buchet.

Many memories came flooding back, particularly when discovering the model, during the visit to the room dedicated to the presence of CISM and ESMAT in “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”.
