Continuing their campaign to make their exhibition on the barracks of the Indre region available to the public, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” (Friends of La Martinerie) were present from May 18 to May 25, 2026, in the reception area of the Valençay Hospital Center.
The space was shared with an exhibition of works by Ms. Françoise Guillot, a resident of the facility.
With meticulous care, precision, and great sensitivity, Ms. Guillot creates drawings of flowers, sailboats, figures, and windmills. This exhibition fostered a spirit of teamwork within the EHPAD (long-term care facility), as residents took charge of framing the artworks (photos 8 and 9).
The joint opening reception for both exhibitions took place on Monday, May 18, attended by some fifty residents, facility staff members, friends of Ms. Guillot, and about ten middle school students. These students had the opportunity to meet with residents and share memories with them in connection with their history curriculum.
Also in attendance were Claude Doucet, Vice-President of the Departmental Council; Pascal Doucet, Mayor of Valençay; numerous elected officials and representatives of partner organizations; and Ms. Valérie Grammond, Director of the Hospital.
Our thanks go to Mireille Konguep for her availability and kindness.
