For the past four years, “les Amis de La Martinerie” have had the pleasure of welcoming the Indre Gendarmerie Cadets as part of their mission to preserve military memory in the Indre department.
Les Amis de La Martinerie at the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur nursing home in Issoudun
Continuing to make their exhibition on the barracks of the Indre department available, Les Amis de La Martinerie have set up shop at the Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur nursing home for dependent elderly people in Issoudun, a facility twinned with the one in La Chaume.

Continuing their exhibition tour in various Indre senior care facilities, Les Amis de la Martinerie were at the La Chaume nursing home in Issoudun on Monday, October 13th, to install their panels on the Indre barracks.
The new DMD 36 visits La Martinerie
On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, “Les Amis de la Martinerie” had the pleasure of welcoming Lieutenant-Colonel Grégory Erouart, the new Departmental Military Delegate for the Indre department (DMD 36).
Sunday, October 12th, CABACO members at La Martinerie
Some members of the “Club Amateurs de Berlinette Alpine du Centre-Ouest” (CABACO) from Limoges, an association bringing together around twenty Alpines sports cars from the Corrèze, the Haute-Vienne and the Indre departments, met this weekend to participate in their rotating general meeting (between the three departments).
ESOAs from the VERDUN – 75/10 class visiting La Martinerie
It was at Bruno Bordage's initiative that a few ESOAs (non-commissioned officer students) from the 11th Company, 4th Platoon of the 75-10, Verdun class, came to La Martinerie for a pilgrimage, 50 years later.

Our president presents the Legion of Honor medal to André Noizat
Remember!
At the age of 98, André Noizat decided to entrust us with the pennant of the 5th BCP (infantry battalion), which he had been guarding, for safekeeping in our flag room.
Since then, 10-year-old Constance has become a standard-bearer, allowing this pennant to be present at numerous patriotic events, while also being displayed in our flag room.
This presentation of the pennant to the association marked the beginning of a friendship that has developed between the Noizat family, the children of former members of the 5th BCP, and our association, especially through Bruno Duteil, our Vice-President.
It was in the name of this friendship that André Noizat asked our President to present him with the Legion of Honor.
WW1 and Middle School Students – A Successful First
At the request of Mr. Adrien Audor, history teacher, and Ms. Judy, homeroom teacher, “les Amis de La Martinerie” hosted a ninth-grade class from Rosa Park Middle School in Chateauroux for a morning focused on the First World War.
European Heritage Days (EHD) at La Martinerie
This year again, “les Amis de La Martinerie” participated in the 2025 EHD: Guided tours at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday; Organization of a conference followed by a visit of “la Maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”. For this 2025 edition, the conference focused on "Aerial Photography in the Service of Archaeology." and was scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Two Americans visiting La Martinerie
Accompanied by Raymond Ferragut, their local cousin, Patricia, born on the base, and her sister Dani, from Sacramento, were visiting La Martinerie to follow in the footsteps of their now-deceased parents.

At the invitation of Georges Rebardeau, president of the ARVMC (Association for the Renovation of Military Vehicles Center), who offered to welcome us under his association's big tent, and with the approval of Maxance Gerbaud, president of the festival, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” participated in the “Good Old Days” festival on Friday, September 19th, Saturday, September 20th, and Sunday, September 21st, to show to the visitors the association's commitment to preserving the memory of the American military presence in the Indre region between 1917 and 1919 and from 1951 to 1967.

Resulting from a partnership with SOFEMA, a company based on the La Martinerie site, the renovation of the EBR, entrusted to “Les Amis de La Martinerie” by the managers of the Saumur Armored Vehicle Museum, took place this Wednesday, September 3rd.
Michel Petit's personal museum is now at La Martinerie
It's done; mission accomplished: the entire personal museum of Mr. Michel Petit, donated to “les Amis de La Martinerie” by his wife, Mauricette Petit, is now housed in “la Maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”.
“Les Amis de la Martinerie” present at the European Shooting Championship
The European Shooting Championship took place at the National Shooting Sport Center from July 23 to August 7, 2025, at the La Martinerie site.
The Volunteers from “Les Amis de La Martinerie” are always available
Continuing the renovation of the former "transport service" buildings in the South Zone, the head of the CNTS (National Shooting Center) asked us to move our storage equipment (furniture, display cases, etc.) to another building.
Constance, new flag bearer of the 5th BCP
Ensuring that the flags and pennants of the association are always present during patriotic events, and thus honoring veterans who are now deceased, is one of the missions of “Les Amis de La Martinerie”.

Tours continue to be held at La Martinerie during the summer
In addition to numerous individual visitors, and after welcoming visitors on Tuesday, July 15th, as part of the "In the Footsteps of the Americans" event and in partnership with the Châteauroux Métropole Tourist Office, “les Amis de La Martinerie” volunteers welcomed members of the Ardentes Community College (UNC) this Saturday, July 19th (see photo).

A private museum donated to “Les Amis de La Martinerie”
Following the death of its owner and through the joint initiative of his wife and Rémi, one of our members, volunteers from “Les Amis de La Martinerie” came together on Monday, June 23rd to take charge of a private collection.
“Les Amis de La Martinerie” were present at the “Brassioux American Days”
Planned as part of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation, this event was organized by the municipality of Déols.
The village of Brassioux is located in this commune and was built to house the military and civilian personnel of the US Air Force.

During the month of May 2025, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” hosted two groups of young people: one from the Châteauroux Local Mission and, the following week, a group from the Judicial Protection of Justice.

On Saturday, June 14, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” had the pleasure of welcoming the "Connaitre le patrimoine" association from Orval.
Future school teachers at “les Amis de La Martinerie”
As part of the "academic triad" (National Education – Army – IHEDN Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defense), future teachers from the INSPE (National Higher Institute of Teaching and Education) of the Indre department met for the third consecutive year at “les Amis de La Martinerie”, within “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” (The departmental house of military memory).

Invited by the municipality of Le Poinçonnet and its bandmaster, Jean-Jacques Mihoub, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” attended the "Belle Époque Camp" organized on Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25, 2025. The event included a display of 1950s vehicles, US encampments, a 1950s ball, and more.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., during a visit to “la Maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” by members of the Association of Former Airfields, “Les Amis de La Martinerie” signed, with Mr. Jean-François Reille, and in the presence of Nadine Bellurot, Indre Senator and former Mayor of Reuilly; Florence Petipez, General Councilor representing Marc Fleuret, President; Gil Avérous, President of Châteauroux Métropole; Ms. Baptista, current Mayor of Reuilly; and Mr. Devau, Mayor of Neuvy-Pailloux, an agreement to hand over the fragments of the aircraft that Yves du Manoir was piloting during his fatal crash in Reuilly on January 2, 1928.

The plane's stripping is complete. We will soon move on to the painting phase, followed by reassembly. We will then have to install it at La Martinerie and then redo all the woodwork.

As promised, “Les Amis de La Martinerie”, supported by external fundings and donations, purchased and then retrieved the airplane-shaped structure, a vestige of the American era of Brassioux.

The ABAOMTDM 36 and the GR 167 at “les Amis de la Martinerie”
On Sunday January 26, 2025, the members of the ABAOMTDM (Amicale Berrichonne des Anciens d’Outre-Mer et des Troupes De Marine, an association regrouping Navy veteran from the Berry region) and the GR167 of the André Maginot National Federation, held their General Assembly. This now well-established meeting, which gives the opportunity of assessing last year’s moral and financial situations, was held for the third time at “les Amis de la Martinerie”.

Despite heating problems quickly resolved thanks to Art Elec, partner of our association; that Wednesday was a beautiful day at La Martinerie with, as part of the Civic Day, the visit of 9 graders students from the Beaulieu middle school.
Crowdfunding campaign
To avoid permanent destruction, "Les Amis de La Martinerie" are launching a crowdfunding campaign to buy, refurbish and install on the "La Martinerie" site an airplane structure, an outdoor game used by Brassioux children (American then French) from the “Village de Brassioux”..
